My favorite place in the whole, wide world is our cabin on the Whitefish Chain of Lakes near Pequot Lakes, Minnesota.
Sure, there's mosquitos, but spending time with extended family and returning to 'the lake' every Summer -and occasionally during the Winter- when I was growing up was worth every bite.

Poway is my 'other hometown (we moved from MN when I was five) and it's a community that offers a lot. The weather provides plenty of opportunities to enjoy all your outdoor activities. As for me, well I like gardening, camping, kayaking, hiking, and biking when I'm not working on my house, cars, or in my yard or gaming with my youngest daughter.

I still recall when my parents, brother, sister, and I picked out our family dog from the San Diego Humane Society. She was a cocker spaniel mix so, of course, we named her "Lady". Through the years, my wife, kids, and I have adopted several more. They've always been wonderful additions to our family. If you're considering adding a furry member to your family, I highly recommend heading over to the San Diego Humane Society (or your local animal shelter). You'll be glad you did.
My parents, and many other members of my family, worked at an A&W restaurant that my grandparents owned. I enjoyed hearing about their time working there together. Every Summer, when we would set out on our journey across the country from California to Minnesota, we would point out the A&W signs along the way and stop to eat at some of them. It's a tradition that we continue to this day and hopefully will for a long, long time.

Just like their slogan says, Round Table is all about "The Last, Honest Pizza". They are overpriced but always have coupons and, our local shop, occasionally has 'half off' promotions. I've held several positions at Kaiser Permanente during my 27+ years of employment there; Distribution Courier, Truck Driver, OR Systems Clerk, Home Health Clerk, Material Management Specialist, Supply Chain Tech, Clinic Clerk II, and Physical Therapy Aide II. It's been an interesting experience. I've worked with some really good coworkers and managers and outlasted a really bad boss.
The many experiences from working at KP has taught me that I'm more capable than I had previously believed. Seeing this list motivates me to continue exploring outside my comfort zone.
The photo, above, is their original logo and was used when I first began working there. Rallys was my first 'real' job. I started as a Sandwich Maker but earned certifications for each position. It's also where I developed a major crush on a cashier named Rebekka (aka Dani).
The food there is generally just alright now (they've decreased quality to reduce costs like when they discontinued toasting and buttering the hamburger buns and also when they began using shredded lettuce instead of lettuce leafs), but I still highly recommend the seasoned fries.
