Carfluence Requirements

Proceed with Caution Recommendation: Carfluence is a vehicle ad decal program that you can start right away.  There are a lot of details to follow, especially to start this offer.  But a big difference between Carfluence and other vehicle wrap programs is that Carfluence decals are primarily not ad-related and instead are displays of positive messages.  For example, the one I selected is, "Love is Love."

They offer a free program that offers several, optional account upgrades for a fee. I signed up for the free service without any of the upgrade options.  Unlike other vehicle wrap companies that have professionals wrap portions of your vehicle with ads, with Carfluence, you will place the ad decal onto your vehicle's rear window.  Also, unlike other vehicle wrap companies that pay cash, Carfluence drivers are paid via Restaurant.com Gift Certificates (up to $250 Restaurant.com Certificates per month).  These are the same certificates that are available for purchase directly from Restaurant.com, at steeply discounted prices. There is no Carfluence App.

In the Fine Print:  Carfluence is the 'sketchiest' of all the vehicle ad companies listed.  That is because they require an initial financial commitment to start.  I strongly encourage that you carefully review all the details provided during the signup process.  At the time of signup, a $29 "temporary authorization" will apply.  In some cases, a $14.50 charge will be placed at the time of signup instead of the $29 "temporary authorization."

Drivers have 14 days to submit a photo showing that the decal has been applied to their vehicles.  If drivers submit a photo within the timeframe, the $29 "temporary authorization" will never be charged OR the $14.50 that was charged will be refunded (via Paypal).

Carfluence also states that they will provide a refund regardless, if requested within 90 days. But the best course is just to be sure you install the decal within the timeframe allotted.

Also, in order to qualify for your payment, drivers must submit a photo showing the decal applied to their vehicle on the first day of the month (submit before noon of the 2nd day of each month).  If they don't, the driver will not receive payment for that month.

Reasons for Proceed with Caution Recommendation:

  • Carfluence Requires Credit Card Information
  • Carfluence Requires a "Temporary Authorization" for $29 or a $14.50 Charge they state will be Refunded
  • Carfluence had been responding within one Day but Stopped Responding for more than a Week after I had Met the Refund Requirements and Requested the Refund
  • Only After Carfluence Stopped Responding for More Than a Week and I then Disputed the Carfluence Charge via my Credit Card to Receive a Refund Did They Respond and Refund the $14.50

my current Carfluence earnings: $200

Proceed with Caution:  Stickr. It's a vehicle ad decal program that you can start right away. They previously charged a start-up fee and monthly fees but recently changed to a free program that offers several, optional account upgrades for a fee. I signed up for the free service without any of the upgrade options.  Unlike other vehicle wrap companies that have professionals wrap portions of your vehicle with ads, with Stickr, you will place the ads onto your vehicle's rear window (I did it, it was simple and only took a few seconds). Also, unlike other vehicle wrap companies that pay cash, Stickr drivers are paid via Restaurant.com Gift Certificates.  These are the same certificates that are available for purchase directly from Restaurant.com, at steeply discounted prices. There is no Stickr App.

In the Fine Print: I strongly encourage that you carefully review all the details provided during the signup process.  After choosing an ad campaign offer, drivers have 21 days to submit a photo showing that it has been applied to their vehicles.  If the decal isn’t installed in that time, a one-time $19 fee may apply.  Stickr.co states that they will provide a refund, if requested. But the best course is just to be sure you install the decal within the timeframe allotted.

Also, in order to qualify for your payment (gift cards), drivers must submit a photo showing the ad applied to their vehicle on the first day of the month (submit before noon of the 2nd day of each month).  If they don't, the driver will not receive payment for that month.

Reason for Proceed with Caution Recommendation:

  • Stickr Requires Credit Card Information
  • Stickr Charges $19 if Photo of Installed Decal is not Received within 21 Days of Receiving Decal
  • Stickr Stopped Responding after I Contacted them Regarding several Restaurant.com Gift Card Codes that contained less than the Correct Amount
  • Stickr did not Address the Many Days their website would Display an Error when Attempting to Redeem Restaurant.com Gift Card Codes

my current Stickr earnings: $1,570.00

  • Have Vehicle with no Significant Body/Paint Damage

Proceed with CautionWrapify is a generally reputable company but, based on my experience and those of others who have shared similar concerns, I recommend being cautious when working with this company.  Here are some of my pros and cons from working with Wrapify.  One of the pros is that most communications went well during the one advertising campaign that I completed. There were occasional technical issues, like the app not tracking my mileage, but the company was generally responsive about correcting them. I was also paid regularly throughout the campaign. So, in those ways, it was a good experience. The cons came after the advertising campaign had ended, when my vehicle was damaged during the removal of the wrap. That issue is detailed in the following letter that I sent to the advertised client and to the Better Business Bureau.

Letter Sent to Wrapify Client and BBB

"I was excited when I learned of an opportunity to participate in an advertising campaign for them by having my car (more precisely, my wife's car) wrapped in xxxxxx ads.  So, after explaining that Wrapify was not interested in wrapping my F-150 and instead only wanted to wrap her Honda Accord and begging her to let me use her car, I miraculously persuaded my wife into participating.  Other than occasional problems with Wrapify's app, the campaign went well and we participated in many of the "Swarm Events" (when Wrapify would message participants to ask them to drive their vehicles within a perimeter during specified periods of time).  Added perks included the occasional delighted xxxxxx fan who would smile, wave, and offer a 'thumbs up' while driving on the freeway and the excited kids at out nephew's Little League games when they noticed our car in the parking lot after their games and asked to take their pictures next to it.  Unfortunately, though, we did experience a significant issue at the conclusion of our campaign.

On 10/13/2021, when we arrived at the removal appointment to pick up our vehicle, we saw that there was new and significant damage to the finish; specifically, to the clear coat which had been pulled off by the wrap during the removal process.  We immediately brought this issue to the attention of the decal shop staff who then admitted, 'yea, a lot of people's cars got damaged.'  I then took pictures of the damage, contacted Wrapify, and described the problem. When they responded, they instructed me to complete a Damage Claim Form.  After completing that form, I contacted them again when I had not received a response after three weeks.  After many attempts to follow up on the damage claim and responses stated they were very busy or that the person who could address the issue was on vacation, I eventually received a rejection email more than two months later.  Wrapify Claims stated that they were not responsible for any of the damage that their wrap had caused because they asserted that there were preexisting scratches on the vehicle.

While the vehicle is 7+ years old, any imperfections it may have had prior to the instillation and removal of Wrapify's xxxxxx advertising wrap was minimal.  I feel that our ask -for our vehicle to be restored to the SAME condition it was in prior to the application and removal of the xxxxxx advertising material- is reasonable and we have asked the company to reconsider.  But Wrapify continues to ignore our request."

If you've read this far, you'd probably like to know how it worked out... Well, the experience did have a happy ending as Wrapify eventually agreed to repair the damage.

Reason for Proceed with Caution Recommendation:

  • Difficult Level to Make Wrapify Agreeable to Repair Damage Caused by Wrap

my current Wrapify earnings: $360.28
